Why People Love Us
"Here is what happens for me in Pilates. Some days I am weak and some days I am strong. Some days I cry and some days I laugh. I cry because something inside me gets released, and then I can move through with strength. I laugh because I think they must be joking for me to do that move, and smile when I actually can do it. Pilates has saved me in so many ways and given me strength on the outside and inside. From all the aches that have come up over the years I have been practicing, these old bones are a lot better off with this commitment I have made to myself. The commitment is to keep on moving.
Thank you Chantill, Kristen and Caitlin. "

"Pilates Collective is my favorite studio ever! I moved to San Francisco over half a year ago and still try to go to PC once a week. The teachers are fabulous! Manly I work with Chantill and there isn't enough praise to describe her! I have had chronic back pains related to scoliosis since childhood. It has been 1.5 years now that Chantill has worked with me on my back and core strength. I have not been "out of commission" from back pain and am feeling better and stronger then ever. I am loving pilates and this studio so much that this January I am starting my pilates teacher training. Chantill rocks!
The zumba classes with Kristen are fun and such a great workout. I wish I could have SF and pilates collective in the same place..."

"I work out regularly with Kristen at Pilates Collective and it makes a tremendous difference in my life both physically and emotionally. I strongly encourage my patients to practice Pilates at Pilates Collective because of the variety of classes and the highly skilled instructors. To heal we have to take responsibility for our health and Pilates is fantastic for strengthening and balancing our neuromuscular system."

"About five years ago, I took sample classes with as many Pilates instructors in Sebastopol as I could find, and chose Chantill Lopez from an outstanding group. I've been taking classes, privates, and trios with Chantill ever since. Now I do a trio twice a week at Pilates Collective and have gained tremendous benefits in strength, balance, function, and flexibility -- and I've enjoyed every minute. Chantill, Kristen, and the marvelous instructors at Pilates Collective have the training, intuition, and patience to address my myriad physical challenges. I always leave with a spring in my step and feelings of peace and personal power."
Joan Price
"Chantill and Kristen are clear, effective and encouraging instructors with teaching styles that are refreshingly down to earth. Thankfully, this studio is void of the far-out-airy-flakey attitude that can be found in alternative stretch and strengthening classes; nor is it pushing haute holier-than-thou exercise culture that feels so plastic. It's a relaxed, comfortable environment to treat your body, perfect your posture, build strength and feel good. Classes at this studio has done all of these things for me. "

"After a back injury, my diagnosis was disc herniations and nerve root compression in the lumbar spine. I suffered disabling pain and needed to lie flat on my back many hours a day. Drugs made my stomach feel terrible; surgery was a scary prospect, and for awhile, I doubted that I could make a comeback. Fortunately I found an osteopathic physician who could help, who also recommended Pilates sessions with Kristen Iuppenlatz. I’ve been working with Kristen for 4 years. I value her high level of competence and strong commitment as a Pilates trainer. But my favorite quality is her warm and nurturing presence. Under Kristen’s guidance, I’ve been able to work hard. The time passes quickly in the sessions, and I leave feeling great! At age 57, I truly feel stronger than ever."
Candace English
"I’m delighted to say that I entered my 40s completely pain-free! All the previous back and sciatic discomfort is totally gone. I absolutely attribute this to my work with Chantill. As icing on the cake, our work is a lot of fun and Chantill is an incredible instructor!"
Julie Sykes
"More miraculous to me than anything, the improvement in my body as a whole is what is remarkable. I feel the healthiest and most strong/healthy in my body that I have felt in my entire life. Pilates has helped with TMJ and
back issues that came up as I lost weight. Chantill has worked with me through three significant back issues and kept me on track when an injury would have normally sidelined me. I work with muscles in my body - especially my back - that I didn't know I had much less the strength I could derive from them."

"Fitness is an important aspect of my job as a firefighter. Training at Pilates Collective with Kristen has been an
integral part of my fitness training. My work with her has given me stronger core strength and new flexibility.
Kristen combines knowledge of exercise and Pilates with a sense of what is best for you, your body, and your
daily needs. Continuing Pilates throughout my career will keep me strong and prevent future injuries."

"I joined Pilates Collective in August of 2007 to improve my overall health and body. Around that time I had been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. I was at the first stages of Parkinson's and I was suffering from what is called "stooped head syndrome. I had to wear a neck brace everyday. I started seeing Pam Lindsay, my trainer at Pilates Collective, has helped a lot with my neck problem to the extent that I no longer use the brace. By going to this studio I'm hoping that with their help my Parkinson's will not progress. I feel great and I intend to stay at Pilates Collective as a lifetime commitment. Thank you to Pilates Collective and their wonderful staff."

"I am 66 and I'm committed to Pilates for the rest of my life! This is one of the best investments that my husband and I have made to help us during the rest of our elderly years.
I came to Pilates Collective in February of 2007 because I needed to improve my posture and I had been diagnosed with osteopenea. I worked out on the springboard but I realized that I needed a more structured program. I still go to my gym to walk on the treadmill, but Pam Lindsay became my trainer for Pilates. Focusing on the core muscles helps align my spine and my posture is improving. She is strict and at times I ask her, "Are we having fun yet?" She replies, "10 more."
