    Course Descriptions:

This workshop focuses on experiencing the plumb line, as it travels through the legs and feet, guiding us to the most efficient trajectory for both downward weight flow and the upsurge of ground reaction force, both essential components of effortless standing posture and effective use.
For teachers, the work that Mercy will be introducing will help you maximize your sessions and make you and your students more successful.
    Workshop Description:
The body’s contents, held by the frame, are supported from below via springy, myofascial trampolines (arch of the foot, hip rotator sling) and suspend from above in hanging tension from ligaments, tendons, muscles and other myofascial structures from the base of the skull. The ease of the core to expand outward as well as to compress and become smaller is one of the factors in how readily the body can adapt to needed changes, and thus exhibit freedom and grace in moving. The core myofascial structures are in service of and at the mercy of this adaptability. Restrictions can come from either the viscera themselves, or from imbalances, misuse, trauma to the structure itself, either skeletally or myofascially.
This course identifies the key core structures of the inner and outer pelvis, legs and feet. It also offer ideas about how the “leg core” is reinforced by flexibility and coordinated use of specific musculature of the lower limbs and feet. Exercises will be given to help experience the value of rebalancing the fascial lines in the leg. Anatomical illustrations are to be used as a map for helping to locate appropriate initiating sites for the exercises, and to give a visual guide to relationships referenced in the course. A class exercise sequence will be given to assist you in presenting this information to your clientele. Much of the basis for this inquiry stems from the work of Thomas Myers’ Deep Front Line as it is laid out in his excellent text, The Anatomy Trains.
